| ASSISTANCE IN POLLUTION CONTROL |
| Programs on "Waste Minimisation and Cleaner production" in small scale industries are conducted to assist the sector in over coming the problem of pollution Funds for such program are provided by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. |
| OZONE LAYER PROTECTION |
| The stratospheric Ozone layer is being destroyed by human activity i.e. by release of man made chemicals. The chlorine and bromine radicals destroy Ozone leading to reduction of atmospheric Ozone concentration. |
| The Montreal protocol is a global agreement under the management of UNEP for protection of Ozone layer which has been ratified by India in Sept. 1992. |
